Our certificate programs

The textile dyeing program complement the loom weaving and knitting programs and is structured into two semesters, designed to provide solid and progressive training in natural fiber, organic and natural dyeing and textile printing techniques.

  • The Certificate program in Textile Dyeing extends for 624 hours, over approximately eight months, depending on the schedule.

  • Upon completion of the program, students receive the Technical Labor Certificate in Textile Dyeing, with the related specialization, approved by the Bogotá Secretariat of Education under Resolution 170017 of November 27, 2024.

The program is built upon two key areas:

Introduction and History of the Craft

This cycle applies to each one of the specializations. Students gain foundational knowledge and develop essential skills in planning and graphically representing objects related to the craft.

Direct, Resist, and Linoleum Printing Techniques

Students explore printing methods on natural and synthetic textiles, allowing for the creation of custom designs with a high level of precision and quality.

  • The program provides basic knowledge of color chemistry and colorimetry, along with expertise in fastness testing to ensure the durability and reproducibility of textile colors.

    Additionally, students dive into textile washing and bleaching processes and learn to interpret and construct dye curves. Throughout all stages, sustainable methodologies are applied to ensure environmental preservation while maintaining the integrity of textile materials.

  • This structured, technical approach delivers solid, hands-on training, guiding participants to document and systematize color development on textile substrates. This approach fosters active research, enhancing and deepening artisanal dyeing practices.
